Our practical acts of love and kindness reflect the love we have been shown in Christ
Jesus calls his followers to love our neighbours in both word and deed. At CCB, as well as loving and serving others within our church community, we also seek to serve the community in our local area in a number of practical ways. We encourage individual church members to be active in reaching out to their neighbours and local community in order to bear witness to the love of Christ.
Food Bank Collection
We’re keen to help the community. A small way of doing this is donating food to the local foodbank for which we are one of the local drop-offs.
Balham Boppers is a group for parents to come with babies, toddlers and preschool children to bop, bounce, sing and listen to stories. Children’s snacks, tea, coffee and cake are provided. Please note, in order for us to encourage consistent friendships this is not a ‘drop in’ group – families sign up for a 12 week term for £30. If you are interested in joining, please get in touch.
Dangerous Club is a youth group run by CCB for kids in school years 3 to 6. With a wide range of “dangerous” activities (conducted in a safe environment) Dangerous Club combines fun and games with a chance to hear from God’s word in the Bible. Previous Dangerous Clubs have featured controlled explosions, microwave baking, snowball fights and even fireballs! With a high ratio of adults to children, we ensure that everyone leaves with amazing stories and a huge smile!
Even the best marriages need some care and attention from tine to time. These courses are intended to give couples time to think and chat through their married lives together in light of God’s word.
As part of our mission to tell others about the good news of Jesus Christ, we also want to invite people in. We put on a variety of community events so that we might begin a converation about the God we love!
Mostly at Christmas, our musicians and singers push the boat out a little and put on some shows. The carol mashups at the Bedford Pub are always a highlight, but if loud music isn’t your thing, the CCB Christmas choir gets bigger every year.
