Before the talk began we watched this video from Planet Earth to set the stage for what a plague of locusts is like. In the book of Joel there is some frightening imagery of locusts and hardships that is meant to turn our eyes to God and call out to Him. It is a trailer if you will for a much greater calamity that God is warning people about. In all of the bleak imagery there is hope and God reveals Himself as compassionate, kind, and loving,. The question is, will we run to Him for rescuing or will we pretend like the day of the Lord will not really going to happen?
