When we meet
All Age Church – 10.30am, Chestnut Grove School
Our all age service is informal with a growing number of children of all ages, plus a vibrant Sunday School and Youth Group for different ages. In the service we sing both traditional hymns and contemporary songs where the words reflect timeless Biblical truth, and hear a talk on the passage of the Bible as part of our sermon series.
Evening Church – 6pm, Chestnut Grove School
In the evenings we meet in the same venue. We spend time reading God’s word, singing His praises with contemporary songs and classic hymns. Services often include a short comment on current news, ministry issues or popular culture viewed through the lens of the Bible. We also hear a talk as part of our sermon series, and are invited to ask questions and share insight after the talk.
Why we meet
We meet to hear God speak to us
We believe the Bible to be the primary means by which God has chosen to reveal himself today. During our meetings, we spend time seeking to understand what God is saying to us from the text of the Bible. Our sermons aim to faithfully explain what the biblical authors wrote, and to think through the implications for 21st Century living. After the sermons we usually have a time for questions, and more time after the service to talk to the preacher or discuss it with each other.
We meet to respond to God
We respond to God in prayer as we express our dependence upon Him and in praise as we rejoice in the great salvation won for us by Jesus Christ. In our praise we seek to bring together the best theology with the best music to encourage God’s people to worship him in song as best we can. We love to sing, and combine the best of new songs and classic hymns, led by our band.
We meet to encourage one another
To keep going as disciples of Jesus Christ we need one another as we face the challenges and opportunities that living for him in 21st century London presents. Many within our regular congregation are investigating Christianity for the first time as adults, so we strive to be accessible, clear and jargon-free.
