Our statement of faith
- God has spoken. The Bible is God’s reliable and personal Word for us today. It says all we need for salvation and life.
- Christ has died. Jesus suffered the penalty we deserve. We depend entirely upon him for forgiveness and eternal life.
- Christ is risen. Jesus was bodily raised to govern and care for us. He opened the way into heaven.
- Christ will return. Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead. He will forever renew his creation, welcome his people and condemn his enemies to hell;
- God’s Spirit is empowering us. The Holy Spirit gives us new life to know and grow like Jesus. We need his purification for holiness, his gifts for service and his power for evangelism.
- We repent and believe. For forgiveness and life we must turn from our sin to following Christ and from trusting ourselves to trusting in Christ. Jesus is the King in our lives.
- We worship God. We worship in spirit and truth in all of life with sacrificial holiness. Our meetings are marked by learning (not mystery), sincerity (not ceremony) and joy (not boredom).
- Our priority is Evangelism. We aim to grow disciples for Christ. We regard the gospel of Christ as the most precious gift of love and the most potent force for social change.
We hold to the orthodox doctrine of the great early Councils of the Church, the 39 articles of Religion and the Book of Common Prayer and Ordinal of the Church of England, and the contemporary Jerusalem Declaration of the Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans; central to which is Article 6 of the 39 Articles, “Holy Scripture contains all things necessary for salvation. Consequently whatever is not read in Scripture nor can be proved from Scripture cannot be demanded from any person to believe it as an article of the faith. Nor is any such thing to be thought necessary or required for salvation”.
We belong to the Church of England. Our Senior Ministere is ordained as an Anglican Clergyman.
We’re respectful of others who endeavour to be faithful to God’s Word. We enjoy our partnership in Gospel Ministry with our local Balham, Tooting, Streatham and Wandsworth Common fraternal that grew out of A Passion for Life, the cross-denominational South West London and South East Gospel Partnerships, the Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans (UK&I) and links with churches and ministries of many nations.
